What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Monitor various security channels for potential security events and escalate incidents as necessary
- Log and maintain detailed case notes for all investigations in the case management system
- Identify false positives and improve detection accuracy under supervision
- Mentor, support, and train junior team members in security operations
- Engage in ongoing learning to develop technical skills and knowledge of cybersecurity threats and defense strategies
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 6 years of experience working as a SOC Analyst
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience
- Strong experience with cybersecurity tools such as SIEM, EDR, and Phishing Protection/Email Security
- Solid understanding of common networking protocols and infrastructure devices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with runtime security monitoring on modern, containerized workloads (Kubernetes, EKS, etc.)
- Familiarity with cybersecurity incident analysis and response frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, etc.)
- Preferred certifications include: Security+, Network+, CCNA, AWS Security - Specialty, CCSP, GCLD, GCFR, GCTD or similar
- Foundational understanding of AI concepts such as LLM, Agents, Models
