To assist in the day-to-day running of the department to provide an efficient and effective service and take responsibility when required.

To act as a representative of the Hearing Services department, be professional at all times and ensure effective communication and co-operation with all our users.

To perform and supervise a wide range of duties both administrative and technical in order to achieve and maintain a high standard of patient care.

To supervise the work of trainee and junior audiologist and provide instruction / seminars in audiological techniques to trainees studying for professional examinations including the BSc in Audiology.

To perform fitting of digital hearing aids, assessments and fitting of Bone Anchored Hearing Aids.

To assist in the day-to-day running of the department to provide an efficient and effective service and take responsibility when required

To assist in the balance clinic and undertake many aspects of vestibular testing including Posturography, VNG and Caloric testing.

To undertake a wide range of audiological tests on adults at the LRI and outlying clinics.

To undertake direct referral assessments for Hearing Aids using MHAS protocols including GHABP and real ear measurement.

To undertake first line quality monitoring and control, and to provide statistical information as required. To assist the paediatric audiologist in paediatric assessments including distraction and visual response audiometry.

To evaluate and assist with the management of Tinnitus.

Responsible for maintaining up to date skills, knowledge and competence, and awareness of professional issues.

Undertake specialist education training as required that will allow health care to be delivered to the user through new ways of working.

To take specific responsibilities for extra duties as agreed by Hearing Services Manager, and perform any other duties that may be reasonably requested.

Job summary
The Hearing Services Department at the Leicester Royal Infirmary is looking for a suitably qualified audiologist to work within their busy department. The department is looking for highly motivated, naturally talented and outgoing audiologist to join their friendly and dynamic team.
The post will involve working in a variety of clinical settings. The workload will involve working across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The applicant must be flexible enough to travel the required distance to all clinical sites.
Applicants should have a BSc Audiology Honours degree or equivalent and have had at least one years experience working within a Hearing Services department.
Main duties of the job
The successful individual will be responsible for delivering comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative services for adults, in a variety of clinical settings. The workload will involve working across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The new audiologist will be given the opportunity to undertake rehabilitation and vestibular work within the department, as well as being offered the opportunity to undertake some research as required.
