      Senior Auditor

      Clerk Grade: 9/10, Temporary (up to 12 months), Full-Time opportunity. Possibility of extension on a part-time basis after that period

      $125,693 - $138,510 plus superannuation

      A bout the Team

      The Policy, Strategy and Governance division plays a pivotal role in ensuring robust internal audit practices that support transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across the Department of Customer Service. We collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement an audit strategy that aligns with statutory requirements and promotes excellence in governance.

      Your Day-to-Day

      As a Senior Auditor, you will:

      • Lead and coordinate multiple audits to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
      • Develop and implement audit policies and procedures to meet compliance and legislative requirements.
      • Oversee and collaborate with outsourced service providers to ensure the effective execution of the annual audit plan.
      • Provide actionable insights and prepare comprehensive reports for governance committees and senior executives.
      • Assist in the development and follow-up of management actions in response to audit findings.
      • Support the organisation’s strategic objectives through continuous improvement initiatives.
      • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to foster a culture of risk awareness and accountability.

      To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Demonstrate:

      • Relevant audit and/or risk qualifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISO, CA) with substantial experience in internal auditing.
      • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and address complex audit and compliance issues.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly present audit findings and recommendations to diverse audiences.
      • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
      • A proactive and collaborative approach to building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
      • Competency in leveraging technology to enhance audit practices and ensure compliance with information management policies.
