Senior Business Control Specialist – Process Health and Governance

- Acts as liaison between Risk and Business Control and GTMO FLUs ensuring adherence to all SPI Program requirements.
- Performs ongoing assessment of risks, controls, and metric quality.
- Provides analytical support in executing internal control discipline and operational excellence within a line of business/front line unit (LOB/FLU).
- Conducts periodic evaluations of process and control effectiveness rating.
- Performs data driven risk identification and analysis, escalates gaps and provides recommendations for remediation.
- Leads, coordinates, and responds to all GCOR SPI Challenges working in partnership with the GTMO FLUs.
- Monitors and executes SPI inventory/Process Owner Portal (POP) change requests and validates outcomes; includes POP data entry.
- Partners and leads discussions with Business Partners, GCOR, and other SPI content owners to validate inventory accuracy.
- Acts as the champion for key Risk and process management initiatives and ongoing process improvements related to SPI governance.
- Contributes to the GTMO Quarterly Risk ID and annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
- Communicates risk positions crisply and candidly with leaders across the organization and with internal business partners.
- Conducts assessments of bank policy and standard updates aligned to Process Management, Metric and Testing Policy to understand business impacts, Risk and Business Control deliverables and collaborates with key partners to ensure compliance.
- Develops and maintains effective partnerships across Risk and Business Controls and with business, compliance, and risk teammates.
- Demonstrate the ability to review and assess change being introduced across the Organization and Business processes to identify the need for risk and control.
- Role supports Global teams and may require schedule flexibility to execute and complete deliverables with teammates and partners across our global regions.
- Position has responsibility for leading and/or supporting the risk framework in alignment to the Enterprise Process Management Policy and Procedure.
- Experience in Risk and Business Control, cross functional operations, risk management, audit and/or compliance.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and practices
- Knowledge of Global Treasury and Merchant products, processes, and systems
- Experience with bank policies and standards
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends and potential risks.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative while also being a team player.
- Proficient in using relevant software applications and tools.
- Strong proficiency with SharePoint and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
