- Co nduct co ntractual negotiatio ns with suppliers to e nsure that all co ntracts reflect a ro bust flow-d own of o ur co ntractual terms and co nditio ns and to minimise commercial risks
- Maximise t he benefits of currency fluctuatio ns
- Procure g oo ds and services cost effectively
- Ensure that t he quality of products supplied meets appro priate quality standards
- Ensure sup plier on time delivery t hro ugh effective negotiation
- Be prepared to challenge the suppliers to maximise margin and value for the benefit of t he business
- To ratio nalise sup plier base to develop preferred so urces of supply to meet the strate gic business nee ds
- Analyse supplier capabilities and manage so urce selection
- Access more effective sup pliers capab le of supp orting design initiatives and /or cost o ut strate gies
- Develop awareness of market intelligence on products, prices and processes
- Keep up to date on new develo p ments that influence procurement practices and procedures
- Arrange and participate in mee tings w hen required
- Maintain purchase order status with dates reflecting current demand and commitments.
- Evaluate and sup p ort resolution on material quality, price, sup ply issues, delivery and invoice discrepancies.
- Prepare reports, related to purchasing activities, for prese ntation to t he business.
- Pro p ose and im plement job related pr ocess im provements, participate in cross-functio nal reviews.
- Su pp ort the purchasing function and other relevant departments and comm unicate any supply pro blems w hich may im pact on business o peratio ns
- Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities
- Mo nitor and advise on any issues which present risk or o pp ortunity to t he business
- Mo nitor market trends, c om petitor strategies and market suppliers
- Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review p ote ntial cost reduction activities
- Negotiate orders, im prove prices and terms of business with suppliers and review o pp ortunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and met h o ds
- Build, maintain and manage sup plier relatio nships and keep up good comm unicatio ns
- Ensure that a professio nal and co nsistent approach is taken in relation to all sup plier relatio nships
- Ensure com pliance to business guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures.
- Co nduct research for new sup pliers
- Com pile data relating to supplier performance to e nable evaluation
- Assess and evaluate suppliers and co ntribute to performance reviews to e nsure co ntract com pliance
- Knowledge of purchasing processes and Order placement systems
- Respo nsibility for the updating of co m puterised reports regarding delivery dates and sup plier performance
- Experience of Microsoft Office suite
- Work as an integral part of t he SCM team
- Provide fee dback and process im provements recommendatio ns t hat will help with t he com pany performance.
- Pro duce reports and written co mm unicatio ns as required
- Prepare and participate in pro gress meetings and follow up actio ns accordingly
- Be clear on HTO-UK business o bjective
- Understand t he role of the Bu yer and t he inte gration within HTO-UK
- Play their part in the provision of fee dback and delivery of ideas to develop and im prove solutio ns for the pro duct p ortfolio.
- Research industry on a regu lar basis to keep abreast of changes and develo p ments, and trends t hat will affect o ur customer organisatio ns and com petitor organisatio ns.
- The ability to negotiate in a business environment with tact and diplomacy.
- Create and manage key supplier relatio nships in order to achieve the execution of purchase orders, right first time, on time and to budget.

- On time delivery - Delivery to acknowledged promise date, and any im provements
- To Budget – cost savings recorded where p ossible
- Engineering back gro und wo uld be preferred but is not esse ntial.
- Lean / Six Sig ma wo uld be desired but n ot esse ntial
- Experience of ERP Systems preferred
- An appro priate SCM qualification e.g. CIPS is a desirable but n ot esse ntial with relevant ex perience
- Engineering technical k n owledge preferred.
