What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review and interpret patient records to assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes
- Perform coding and abstracting tasks to support billing, data quality, and statistics
- Follow coding guidelines and regulations
- Utilize diagnostic reports to accurately code patient charts
- Complete daily work assignments and collaborate within service line structure
What is Required (Qualifications):
- CCS credential required
- College Degree in Health Information Management or coding experience in acute care setting
- Associate or Bachelor Science degree in Health Information Technology preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in coding inpatient, observation, emergency medicine, or same-day surgery
