What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist in maintaining the employer's Medical Loss Ratio Compliance Program
- Respond to external requests for information related to medical loss ratio regulatory filings
- Manage compliance oversight of medical loss ratio reporting and assist with inquiries from regulatory agencies
- Review and synthesize regulatory requirements to create policy and position statements
- Perform periodic compliance audits and risk assessments related to ongoing compliance monitoring activities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in a related legal field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of related experience in compliance privacy and/or regulatory affairs
- Experience in project management with a working knowledge of laws and regulations in compliance, particularly HIPAA
- Master’s or Juris Doctorate degree preferred and may be considered in lieu of experience
- Ability to communicate state and federal requirements to internal and external clients
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience managing ethics and compliance medical loss ratio projects or implementations
- Familiarity with medical loss ratio compliance issues and the ability to resolve them
- Strong communication skills for serving as a liaison on medical loss ratio policies and contract issues
- Experience in developing compliance policies, procedures, and work instructions
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and their impact on service delivery
