      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Independently develop and oversee research proposals and manage contract and grant records in compliance with institutional policies
      - Prepare complex proposal budgets and support documents required by funding guidelines
      - Coordinate proposal submissions and provide guidance on complex research administration matters
      - Complete and approve transactions for signature by authorized officials
      - Participate in special projects and support principal investigators in budget preparations for diverse funding opportunities

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Thorough understanding of research administration guidelines for Federal and non-Federal sponsors, preferably in a university environment
      - Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training
      - 4-6 years of recent contract and grant pre-award management and budget preparation experience
      - Strong writing skills and the ability to draft persuasive text for various audiences
      - Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize assignments under pressure

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience administering research funding from organizations such as the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health
      - Proficient in the use of UC Campus financial systems, including KR, KFS, UCPath, and others
      - Familiarity with University of California Policies and Procedures related to finance and grants
      - Experience managing multi-million-dollar research awards
