  Petrofac is seeking a Senior Contracts Engineer - Contractor for 12 Months, based in Aberdeen, UK.
  The role is outside IR35 and we invite Limited Companies to engage.
  Scope of Services :
  Services to be supported during the duration of the contract are detailed below. A requirement to undertake additional services shall be mutually agreed by way of contract amendment:
  • Development of subcontracts strategy papers.
  • Development and negotiation of back-to-back subcontracts for the project.
  • Develop the project subcontracts asset plan, ensuring that is it delivered, and any tendering activity as required.
  • Prepare, draft, issue and manage Invitation to Tender (ITT) packages, including management of the clarification process, expediting responses, preparing formal commercial evaluation of bids and recommendation to award.
  • Prepare, issue & negotiate approved contracts and contract amendments to selected subcontractors.
  • Maintain and log all contract change authorisations and amendments.
  • Where appropriate, liaise with Client and project stakeholders in technical, legal, tax insurance and compliance teams to obtain their input into subcontracts.
  • Negotiate contract terms with suppliers in line with Petrofac Best Practice and prepare justification for any significant exceptions for senior management approval.
  • Ensure any agreed contractual position is approved in line with the Supply Chain Management Delegation of Authority.
  • Prepare & review contract approval paperwork (SSJ, RRC, BURRC and Tender Board paperwork) in support of ITT’s and awards.
  • Gain a full understanding of company procedures and processes and follow these principles in all aspects of the role.
  • Develop standard ITT and contract templates for differing categories of activities.
  • Lead and promote a performance culture, including focus on performance and value creation.
  • Assist in the resolution of contractual claims and disputes.
  • Contribute to the subcontractor management plan and be responsible for carrying out performance reviews in accordance with the plan.
  • Support asset transitions and provide input in the SCM Transition Plan and constricting strategies.
  • Support price negotiations with suppliers/bidders to achieve demonstrable price reductions, resolving claims and variations.
  • Support all subcontractor management.
  Deliverables:
  Services should be provided to enable production of the following deliverables where required as part of project specific works, specific clients and durations will be called off as part of the purchase order.
  Key deliverables to include:
  • Creation of a project subcontracts strategy paper.
  • Development of back-to-back subcontracts for the project.
  • Creation of a project subcontracts plan
  • Preparation, drafting, issuing and managing, reviewing and awarding of any Invitation to Tender (ITT) packages which may be required.
  • Preparation of all contract approval paperwork, as required.
