      This position reports directly to the Substance Testing Programs Regional Manager and partners with team members to achieve the various types of Delta required and FAA/DOT mandated drug and alcohol tests.

      Specific functions, tasks, and requirements may vary for the Sr. Coordinator or may be added depending upon the location, testing volume, and operational and program requirements.

      • Responsible for the accurate, timely, and efficient administration of Delta required and FAA/DOT mandated drug and alcohol testing for safety sensitive employees including random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, pre-employment, follow up, and return to duty. Additionally, responsible for Delta required testing for non-safety sensitive employees including reasonable suspicion, post-accident, follow up and return to duty,
      • Required to successfully complete, maintain and demonstrate proficiency in required training, including maintaining unrestricted DOT Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT)/Collector certification. Provide testing services in a confidential, compliant, flexible, and timely manner.
      • Develop and manage scheduling of all FAA/DOT random tests requiring coordinating availability of employees selected as well as of Coordinators. Handle notification, and collection for all FAA/DOT random tests which requires physically hand delivering notifications repeatedly throughout the shift period to selected employees located throughout the work area.
      • Serve as subject matter experts within Substance Testing Programs for operating an NHTSA evidential breath testing device (EBT) as a certified Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) as well as Calibration Technician.
      • Prepare donors for breath alcohol screening and confirmation testing by explaining procedures necessary to complete testing.
      • Provide appropriate and timely response to donors, to STP leaders, and to other HR or Operational leaders as appropriate.
      • Ensure test site facilities are secure and are fully compliant.
      • Act as the primary liaison between Substance Testing Programs and Delta leaders across various departments for issues related to DOT and non DOT testing regulations and requirements.
      • Certify each drug and alcohol test in accordance with the procedures established in the U.S. Department of Transportation regulation, 49 CFR Part 40 & Part 120.
      • Ensure consistency in DOT and Delta standards across multiple regions and locations.
      • Interact with medical review officer vendor, laboratory vendor, clinical services vendors, and Federal enforcement inspectors as required. Also interact with employees and leaders on all levels.
      • Responsible for working flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and after hours, based on operational needs, keeping in mind the position supports a 24 hour, 7 days a week operation.
      • Under limited situations, must be willing to conduct same-gender direct observations of specimen production as required by federal law.
      • Handle sensitive and confidential information.
      • Follow and adhere to regulatory requirements when sanitizing drug testing area, as well as collecting and shipping specimens, to ensure safety of donor and collector, and avoid cross contamination.
      • Serve as liaison to employees being tested including escorting/directing them to testing facility and educating/answering questions about the testing process and overall program.
      • Manage DOT and non DOT follow up cases for up to five years once evaluation has been completed by SAP.
      • Conduct pre-employment drug screens for employees transferring into safety sensitive positions.
      • Travel, including overnight, to conduct testing services based on operational demands is required. Practices safety conscious behavior.

      What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

      • Must be able to perform essential functions of the job to accomplish testing services requirements.
      • Prior customer service experience is preferred.
      • Must maintain confidentiality.
      • Must be able to travel, including overnight, as operational needs and testing volume require.
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ability to learn how to use other systems including: SAP, SharePoint, Concur, DBMS, Crew Management System, and Alco Sensor IV @Work.
      • Possess effective judgment and customer-service orientation necessary to instruct program participants, and contractors on policies, procedures, and systems.
      • Be reliable, self-motivated and able to meet productivity objectives whether working independently or in a team setting.
      • Demonstrate attention to details, organizational skills, and have the ability to comprehend federal and/or state regulated materials.
      • Must be able to handle multiple tasks associated with providing testing services, including conducting tests at multiple test sites, and to professionally respond to changing priorities, with minimum direct supervision.
      • Must be able to satisfactorily complete required training to function as a certified DOT Breath Alcohol Technician and Collector.
      • Recent experience with 49 CFR Part 40 & Part 120 is preferred.
      • Ability to maintain professionalism at all times including dealing with difficult as well as sensitive situations such as direct observation collections.
      • Requires a flexible schedule with the ability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, in addition to possible weekends and holidays. Based on the situation, the position requires staying late while changing work assignments when needed.
      • Requires coordinating and planning skills in order to develop and carry out testing service schedules in the respective Delta test sites.
      • Ability to assess and make determinations within prescribed procedures for elevating a test site matter to a manager for direction.
      • Ability to monitor and keep track of testing supplies, including communicating with the laboratory for maintaining a working supply of testing forms.
      • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

      • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
      • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
