What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as product counsel, collaborating with engineering, product, and security teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Provide actionable legal guidance on healthcare regulatory compliance, privacy, and compliance matters
- Advise on FDA, FTC, and fraud and abuse laws while ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams
- Support privacy impact assessments and compliance risk assessments
- Monitor emerging regulations around AI and healthcare technology to advise internal stakeholders
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 8 years of legal experience, including at least 4 years in product counseling
- Strong understanding of federal and state healthcare laws, including HIPAA and data privacy regulations
- Experience with FDA, FTC, and fraud and abuse laws
- Proven ability to communicate complex regulatory concepts in a clear manner to non-legal colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with tight timelines
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Expertise in intellectual property, AI, interoperability, or technology law
- Familiarity with trends in artificial intelligence, especially large language models and responsible AI principles
- Prior in-house experience at a growth-stage or healthcare technology company
