Job Description

- Brief Interpretation: Comprehends client strategy and research questions, and able to turn their uncertainty into your compass for investigation (able to formulate productive questions)
- Research: Performs robust and diligent intel gathering from across the web and with resources, pulling disparate signals together to make sense of cultural change
- Interviews: Can lead expert and consumer interviews, design discussion guides, conduct interviews, and produce crisp analysis
- Data Analysis: Mining data and producing fresh insights through the use of our cultural intelligence platform Q and off-the-shelf third-party tools
- Storytelling: Authors and designs logical presentation narratives to illustrate cultural insights and informed client direction with complete ease
- Relationships: Fosters communication across project teams and with clients by presenting, and discussing the application of your strategy work
- Facilitation: Presenting to groups and moderating workshops in both physical and digital/remote formats
- Approximately 4-7 years of experience in a related field, ideally in positions that require blending right- and left-brain sensibilities
- Experience leading primary research and/or managing primary research vendors a plus

Reporting into the Director, Cultural Strategy, this role operates autonomously and is in charge of most strategy outputs: presentations, decks, content, workshops, and other strategy outputs.
The ideal candidate
You have held positions in progressive strategy and/or innovation shops where you have been responsible for providing a clear analysis of future opportunities and advice on how to take action via the development of new products or services, acquisition strategies, business model innovation, and/or positioning shifts. sparks & honey will offer a fluid, creative, and growth-oriented environment that will support your ambitions to apply your talents in an open and collaborative culture.
The role demands knowledge across business and trend analysis, ideation, and innovation methodologies, as well as forecasting. It also demands an appreciation for strategic imagination, high-impact storytelling, and curiosity.
The Sr. Cultural Strategist will work with clients and partners to define growth strategies, identify threats and prioritize opportunities. In this context, you will be required to offer both vision and analysis, leading work sessions, and running data analysis via our suite of tools that cover market sizing, social listening, startup analytics, patent analysis, semantic data, as well as our proprietary cultural intelligence platform.
Collaboration is critical to the success of this role. We are rapidly evolving across the business and integrating new functions to make us smarter and more progressive – so it’s important you are comfortable integrating with different internal and external teams to produce solutions as well as developing your own methods.

The salary range for this role, based in New York, is generally $95,000 to $115,000, and we continually review ranges to address skills, experience and markets. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a number of factors that include, but aren’t limited to, a candidate’s experience and skills relative to the scope and responsibilities of the position.
