      Job Summary

      Senior Data Analyst — Comprehensive Stroke Center:

      The Senior Data Analyst supports the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of clinical and quality data for a Comprehensive Stroke Center. This role ensures data accuracy and integrity, drives insight into performance metrics, and helps sustain compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, national stroke performance measures, and internal quality improvement goals.


      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree required; public health with data analysis focus preferred.
      • Experience in data analysis 5-7 years required.
      • Previous healthcare experience strongly preferred.
      • Quality experience strongly preferred.
      • Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, data visualization, and Business Intelligence tools, such as Tableau.
      • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
      • Ability to communicate complex workflows and data to a variety of audiences.
      • Project management skills and/or experience are a plus.
      • Knowledge and application of statistical analyses including variance analysis preferred.
      • Healthcare knowledge, particularly as it pertains to electronic medical record data, is preferred but not required.

      Key Responsibilities:

      Data Management & Reporting

      • Maintain robust databases that track stroke care performance measures, clinical outcomes, and process improvement indicators.
      • Prepare and validate data for internal quality reports and external submissions to TJC.
      • Abstract patient-level clinical data as needed, ensuring fidelity to inclusion/exclusion criteria and performance measure definitions.

      Analysis & Insight

      • Perform statistical and trend analyses to evaluate stroke care performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
      • Create visualizations, dashboards, and summary reports that effectively communicate findings to clinical leadership, quality teams, and multidisciplinary committees.
      • Conduct “drill-down” analyses when quality or process targets are not met to inform root-cause understanding and intervention planning.

      Accreditation & Compliance

      • Support maintenance of TJC Comprehensive Stroke Center certification by preparing data summaries, facilitating reviews, and responding to data requests.
      • Ensure performance data align with TJC stroke program standards and readiness expectations during surveys or audits.
