What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and implement advanced data and statistical analytics using healthcare claims data and other health data
- Collaborate with the Director of Analytics and other team members to translate policy questions into analytic plans
- Create and maintain research-ready datasets by manipulating large healthcare data
- Execute descriptive and inferential statistical analyses to support health policy research
- Write detailed data analytic plans and maintain documentation for all projects
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years of experience in analytics, health services research, statistics, mathematics, computer science, health policy/economics, or a related field
- OR Master’s Degree plus 3 years of experience in analytics, health services research, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or health policy/economics, or a related field
- Proficiency in manipulating large datasets using statistical programming software, specifically SAS
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in health care utilization and cost analyses
- Knowledge of national data sources (e.g., ACS, HCUP, MEPS)
- Familiarity with health services research topics such as health care quality and disparities
- Understanding of healthcare coding systems (ICD-9/10, CPT, HCPCS, etc.)
- Experience with geographical coding programs like ArcGIS for health geocoding/mapping
