What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Connect research to outcomes by building strong relationships with customers in various sports technology contexts
- Create best practices by right-sizing research objectives to influence company strategies
- Collaborate with product teams to uncover user needs and deliver actionable insights
- Present and defend research findings clearly to diverse audiences through storytelling and metrics
- Refine research methodologies through experimentation and adaptation to project constraints
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Mastery of research methodologies in hardware, consumer electronics, and hard goods
- Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, including focus groups and usability testing
- Excellent communication skills for presenting research findings and providing constructive feedback
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams on research plans and product rollouts
- Strategic thinking skills to uncover deep user needs through first-hand investigation
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Advanced degree in HCI, human factors, cognitive psychology, or a related field
- Experience working with software product teams and understanding digital product development
- Mentoring experience in guiding other designers and helping them grow
- Knowledge of the sports industry dynamics from youth to professional levels
- Experience conducting research across different markets with cultural considerations
