Job Description

- Working alongside the team of Editorial Training Managers to deliver our editorial training strategy
- Collaborating with the Reviewer Engagement Manager to devise our reviewer training strategy and prioritise key learnings
- Regularly liaising with Publishing and Editorial Teams to inform the prioritisation and development of training
- Establishing a close working relationship with training colleagues from across the business, including the Research Integrity Group, to create an effective training programme
- Collaborating with the wider Editorial Engagement Team to ensure the effective communication of training opportunities to external Editors, EBMs and Reviewers
- Reporting regularly to the Editorial Engagement Team, wider PP&I and Journals team on progress and development of the editorial training strategy
- Thorough understanding of editorial and peer review processes in journal publishing, including the roles and responsibilities of Journal Editors, EBMs and Reviewers
- Experience of developing and delivering training programmes through a variety of mediums
- Proven track record of designing and completing projects to schedule and plan
- Experience working with global teams
- Knowledge of tools and software used for the creation of training content
- Highly effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong project management skills with experience working with cross-departmental stakeholders
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A university degree or equivalent experience, preferably in a scientific subject

Senior Editor Training Manager
Location: Shanghai, Beijing or New York
Reports to: Head of Community Engagement

The Springer Nature Editorial Engagement Team works to engage and mobilise the external community of over 90,000 Editors and Editorial Board Members (EBMs).
The Senior Editorial Training Manager will lead the planning, development and implementation of our editorial training programme to ensure these external Editors, EBMs and reviewers have the required skills and knowledge to become first-class in their roles. You will be responsible for the end-to-end development and delivery of high-quality training, designing effective learning programmes to fulfil the training needs of this global community.
Responsibilities :
1. Strategic delivery: Delivering on the external editor training strategy to fulfil the training needs of the global editorial community. Responsibilities include defining the development roadmap for new training content in line with organisational priorities and identified training needs and gaps.
2. Editorial training programme: Creating role specific learning pathways in collaboration with key subject matter experts. Responsibilities include the development of Springer Nature’s external editor training platform, and leading the creation, delivery, and maintenance of a suite of high-quality training outputs.
3. Team Management: Ensuring team resources are effectively deployed to meet the needs of the organisation and individual team members. Responsibilities include recruiting, training and managing a high-performing team of training experts who support delivery of our editorial training strategy.

Annualized Base Salary Range (US ONLY): $85,000 - $105,000.
