- Manage EHS programs in the region, ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual and the company requirements.
- Identify, quantify, document and manage risks within GE Digital’s scope of operations in the region.
- Support the IFM program in the region and perform fixed facilities audits, when required.
- Work with the business EHS training lead to develop employees’ technical EHS competency, implement and administer the EHS training program for personnel in the region.
- Ensure that all EHS events (accidents / incidents, near-misses, first aid cases, property damages, etc.) in the region are recorded, investigated, and analyzed to prevent reocurrence.
- Lead the investigation for accidents / incidents and Potentially Severe Events (PSE), when required.
- Act as primary escalation point for all EHS related issues, field projects and services specific, in the GE Digital business.
- Define and monitor actions to improve EHS performance for field projects and to reduce likelihood and severity of EHS events.
- Define and implement EHS audit plan for field projects, and work closely with other business operational functions to ensure appropriate governance is in place and help with corrective action implementation.
- Partner and develop positive working relationships with customers, external agencies and contractors as well as internal cross-functional personnel. Focal point of contact and interactions with all for the respective portfolio being served.
- Support on all EHS matters during ITO/OTR and handover or response to customer queries for medium and high-risk projects globally.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the project sites related rules defined in the EHS Plan, revise as necessary in agreement with the Project Managers, and take appropriate actions in the event of non-compliance.
- Attend projects internal meetings, as required, to support and problem solve EHS issues and ensure that as far as reasonable practicable GE provides equipment and systems that are safe from risk of harm.
- Share best practices across regions and areas of operation.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in relevant field of study.
- Minimum 10 years of significant EHS and operational experience leading regional, global, or large scale EHS programs and overseeing the execution of EHS in projects or services environment for an industrial or software company in a complex regulatory environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English required; additional regional languages is a plus.
- At least one active professional certification is required; more than one is highly desired.
- Experienced and certified EHS auditor.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
- Demonstrated achievements with safety programs and expertise in multiple high-risk operations (e.g. electrical safety/LOTO, crane safety, construction safety, work at height, confined space).
- Ability to coach, mentor, and drive accountability through team engagement and support key influencers to drive EHS compliance cross-functionally.
- Possess excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate, build, develop, and lead teams of partners and stakeholders in a matrixed and geographically distributed environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of local, regional, and international Environmental, Health, Safety regulations.
- Confidently able to facilitate and deliver training and presentations to a diverse audience.
- Customer-focused with strong written, verbal, and technology-based communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry best practices.
- Previous GE experience and knowledge of GE requirements is appreciated.
Job Description Summary
The Senior EHS Manager will lead on day-to-day management and identification of global medium and high-risk projects at GE Digital, working with cross functional leadership, customers and other third parties as necessary to provide technical EHS support and oversight on all GE, regulatory and industry requirements. The incumbent will also be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all areas of Environmental, Health and Safety as it relates to GE Digital in APAC, including alignment of EHS policies and procedures as well as regulatory and legislative compliance for business operations in the region.
This position is critical to ensure the team’s ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives as well as the successful implementation and execution of all EHS expectations for the distributed operations (projects and/or services).
The Senior EHS Manager will be based in the Noida/Indian region, or remote, and report to GE Digital Global EHS Director. This role requires solid knowledge and experience of regulations applicable to field projects and service operations. A comprehensive background managing high risk activities in similar work environments is also a plus.Job Description
