      S pecific Job Responsibilities

      • Lead device development teams in devi ce e v a lua t i on, des i g n, and opti m i zat i on as re lated to c o mbina t ion drug products.

      • Con duct compatibi li ty studies with drug - del i very de vi ces (pre - f ill ed s y ringes, au t o - injecti ng s y s tem s, etc.) and other container closure s y stem s.

      • Lead the techn o logy tr ans fer of c o mbination produ ct manufacturing processes to cl ini c al and c o m merc ial manufacturing s ites and a ss i st in qua l i ty i n vestiga t ion s.

      • Position may include managing one or more device engineers.

      • E ffectively com muni cate i dea s, p roject goa l s, and results to team m e mbe rs across cros s- fun ction al ro l es/depa rtments.

      • Parti c ipa te in new formulation e v a luati on and op t i m i z at ion as related to combina t i on d rug - dev i ce products (pre- f il led s y r i nges, auto-injecti ng s y stem s, etc.). O versee expe r i mentat ion c onduc ted at contract sites as w e ll as procure i n -house equipment as need ed to manage p rojec t -related de velop ment a cti vi t ies.

      Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

      • E xpe rien ce with de vi ce de s ign c ontro l, combination product des i gn verif i cation and val ida t i on, creation and mainte nan ce of de s ign h i story f i les, a nd qu a li ty s y s tem regulations ( Q SRs).

      • Good verba l, w r itten, and i nterperson al com muni cati on s k ills are req u i red.

      • Experience in cross-functional team leadership is preferred.

      • Mu st be ab le to w rite clea r, con c i se, and error- f ree do cuments.

      • Mu st be ab le to e xerc i se j udg ment with in wel l -de f i ned and estab li shed p roc edu r es and pol i c ies in order to de term ine and take a ppropriate acti on.

      • E xpe rien ce work ing w i th Drug P roduct/Dev i ce CMOs is de s i red.

      • W o r k ing knowl edge of the FDA, cGMP, and G CP standa rds, as w e ll as regulato ry gu idance.

      Basic Qualifications:

      • 8+ y ears of rel e v ant indus t ry expe r ien ce and a BS degree in a scien t i f ic f ield. Field of study preferred: Che m i cal E ngi nee ring, Me c hani c al Eng ineering, Biomed i cal Eng i nee r i n g, Material Science Engineering, or re l ated.

      • 6+ years of relevant industry experience and a MS degree scien t i f ic f ield. Field of study preferred: Che m i cal E ngi nee ring, Me c hani c al Eng ineering, Biomed i cal Eng i nee r i n g, Material Science Engineering, or re l ated.


      The salary range for this position is: $149,600.00 - $193,600.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
