      Job Description

      In this role, as a Senior Engineering Manager of VAS RAIS (Value Added Services Risk and Identity Solutions) team, you will:

      • Monitor the throughput across multiple teams to determine their capacity to deliver or take on new work.
      • Oversee partnership with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., product manager, architect, technical lead) to determine user requirements within and across teams for multiple moderately complex projects.
      • Provide guidance on requirements when delivery and security standards are being met.
      • Review and call out gaps in acceptance criteria. Coaches others to make recommendations on non-functional requirements (NFR).
      • Explore and select tools and oversee practices within and across teams by developing standards for others to produce extensible, testable, and maintainable code.
      • Use strategic knowledge to define quality metrics, best practices, and coding patterns, guidelines, and styles, to ensure testable code.
      • Update and communicate the security assessment process to ensure code is free from threat or risk.
      • Engage with various regional teams to surface best practices, continuously improves standards, monitors the quality of the code, and influences best practice from other products (e.g., design patterns, coding, testing).
      • Remove blockers to ensure pull requests are being reviewed and makes improvements to the pull request process as needed.
      • Monitor, summarize, and prepare findings from testing teams to be shared with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., development teams) across multiple products and features.
      • Provide deep business and technical expertise as required to resolve major incidents and ensures software engineering teams across the business have the technical expertise, tools, and resources to respond to incidents and identify scalable solutions that prevent incident recurrence across products.
      • Hold teams accountable for the development of incident response and resolution guidance and proactively anticipates where problems might exist using knowledge of user feedback. Keeps internal and external stakeholders and executive leaders apprised of details related to customer/business impact and status of resolution.
      • Establish partnerships with product engineering teams and product owners across teams during code/design reviews, regular meetings, on-call rotations, and incident responses throughout product development and operations cycles.

      This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

      Qualifications

      Basic Qualifications

      • 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.


      Preferred Qualifications

      • Master's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science, Information Systems or related field AND minimum five (5) years experience in a directly related field.
      • OR
      • Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science, Information Systems or related field AND minimum seven (7) years experience in a directly related field.
      • OR
      • Minimum ten (10) years of directly related experience
      • Minimum five (5) years experience in a leadership role with direct reports.
      • Minimum five (5) years experience leading project teams.
      • Minimum three (3) years experience working with container-based technologies.
