- Risk Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate risks across designated areas, ensuring RCSAs reflect appropriate risks and controls.
- KRI Development: Support the Director of ERM and KRI dashboard owners in developing and assessing KRIs, including risk appetite measures and targets.
- Action Plan Management: Lead the KRI Action Plan process, documenting root cause and industry analysis to support actions reported to management and the board.
- Issues Management: Regularly monitor the enterprise issues management system, generating detailed reports for stakeholders and providing effective challenge.
- Risk Reporting: Enhance risk reporting processes to support the Risk Appetite Statement and risk-reporting framework.
- High-Quality Reporting: Compile and deliver high-quality reports for management and board level committees, including the Enterprise Risk Committee, Risk Management Committee, and the Board Risk Committee.
- Policy Development: Assist in developing, maintaining, and enhancing Risk Management policies, procedures, and frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Data Governance: Serve as the link between the ERM and Data Governance Program, supporting reporting practices and governance design.
- Regulatory Relations: Assist the Enterprise and Model Risk Program Manager in managing regulatory relations.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Engage in ad-hoc projects or requests as deemed appropriate by the Director of Enterprise Risk Management.
- Culture and Values: Further the United Community Bank’s culture and values.
- 10+ years of risk management experience in Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, and/or Internal Audit.
- Proven track record in risk and control process improvement, standardization, and automation of business and control processes.
- Direct experience with developing and/or executing risk and control assessment programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
- Deep understanding of risk management principles, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practices in the banking sector.
- Ability to confidently raise issues, escalate early, and engage in constructive credible challenge independently.
- Strong critical thinking skills and practical knowledge of data analysis tools, statistical techniques, and risk management frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and business intelligence tools.
- Highly motivated, deadline driven, and results focused.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others at all levels of the organization.
- Experience in managing regulatory relations.
- Familiarity with banking sector risk management software and tools.
- Knowledge of data governance practices.
- Schedule Flexibility: Requires schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Travel: Requires up to 15% travel.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background & credit check

About the Role:
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Enterprise Risk Officer, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process for designated business units. As an enterprise expert, you'll guide, consult, and challenge our business leaders in developing, executing, and evaluating risk assessments across the bank. Your work will ensure an integrated approach among various ERM programs, including Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), Issues Management, and Model and Non-Model risk management.
