      Title: Senior Escort Driver

      Department: Social Services

      FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

      Reports To: Senior Escort Program Supervisor

      Summary: Provides transportation to senior escort clients


      Essential Functions:

      1. Transports clients to and from destinations.

      2. Teams with the Senior Escort Service Workers to assist clients in getting on and off the vehicle.

      3. Arrives at destinations on schedule.

      4. Researches and plans for traffic, construction and weather delays.

      5. Uses navigation applications to determine the best route.

      6. Interacts with clients professionally at all times.

      7. Follows the driver operating standards and procedures.

      8. Communicates and regularly reports changes in clients and issues of operation to the supervisor.

      9. Maintains vehicle in good condition and keeps records of all services, vehicle usage/mileage.

      10. Observes the conditions and needs of clients and provides appropriate assistance and referrals.

      11. Operates vehicles in a safe manner and adheres to traffic laws.

      12. Attends driving safety and/or in-service training as assigned.

      13. Performs other duties as assigned.


      Qualifications:

      1. High school graduate with at least two years of work experience required. Experience working with the elderly and/or adults with disabilities preferred.

      2. Must have and maintain a valid CA driver’s license. Minimum of two years of driving experience with a satisfactory driving record.

      3. Must have an interest in working with seniors and adults with disabilities and be willing and able to climb stairs to the homes of clients.

      4. Good communication skills.

      5. Ability to work in a team environment.

      6. Must pass a strength test for physical fitness for the job; able to lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds.

      7. Must pass a drug test.
