- Develop and implement comprehensive event strategies directly aligned with marketing, sales, and organizational objectives.
- Set clear event objectives, create detailed event plans, and manage recommendations for budgets and resource allocation.
- Conduct market research and identify trends in event planning and design.
- Stay up to date with education technology events nationwide and make recommendations to senior marketing leaders.
- Fully own the end-to-end planning, execution, and evaluation of all marketing-led conferences and flagship events.
- Actively support sales and outreach events, including customer workshops, regional roadshows, and targeted initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment and operational excellence.
- Lead pre-event and post-event coordination, clearly defining roles, responsibilities, and timelines.
- Oversee on-site event operations, managing all details proactively to ensure exceptional attendee experiences.
- Collaborate closely with the Demand Generation Manager to capture, score, and effectively transition leads to sales and customer support.
- Negotiate vendor contracts, manage relationships, ensure compliance, and maintain budget adherence.
- Establish and refine event management processes to maximize efficiency and impact.
- Mentor and guide events coordinator, providing support on day-to-day activities and professional development.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with demand generation, delight, sales, customer support, and creative teams to deliver cohesive event experiences.
- Work collaboratively with the creative team to ensure timely development and delivery of collateral materials, digital assets, branded merchandise, graphic design assets production, and other branded materials.
- Lead targeted marketing and promotional efforts to maximize visibility and attendee engagement before, during, and after events.
- Oversee the development and distribution of promotional materials and event communications.
- Produce post-event reports for marketing leadership, tracking key metrics and assessing ROI.
- Identify trends and opportunities using event data.
- Continuously stay abreast of event best practices, market, and industry trends.
- Requires travel by air and car.
- Provides stellar customer service by maintaining professional working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Works independently under limited supervision. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

SUMMARY
The Senior Events Specialist is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for designing and executing high-impact events that support Vernier’s marketing, sales, and brand goals. This role oversees the planning and delivery of all marketing-led conferences, focusing on creating cohesive, engaging experiences that drive leads and support customer relationships. The individual in this role collaborates across the marketing team and other departments to ensure events are aligned with business objectives and executed with excellence. The Senior Events Specialist also manages vendor relationships and continually evaluates event performance to identify areas for improvement and innovation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field; and 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the education market is strongly preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as: discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
