      As a vital member of the TJX Europe Financial Accounting team, the Financial Accountant for TK Maxx Stores plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial statements for TK Maxx, a retail network comprising approximately 720 stores. This role involves collaborating cross-functionally, preparing consolidated financial statements, analyzing budget variances, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Lead the monthly preparation and analysis of the TK Maxx Stores P&L, partnering with Commercial Finance and Financial Control teams to clarify and comprehend variances against the annual budget and re-forecasts.
      • Manage budgeting, reconciliation, and re-forecasting of lease accounting costs for TK Maxx Stores, including maintenance and reconciliation of the Fixed Asset books and monthly expenditure reporting.
      • Generate monthly Consolidated Financial Statements (P&L and Balance Sheet) for Stores in US GAAP, overseeing review and approval of major Balance Sheet items in alignment with defined SOX controls.
      • Support the Balance Sheet reconciliation and review process, identifying and communicating risks and opportunities while ensuring timely reconciliation of TK Maxx Stores team accounts.
      • Prepare local GAAP Financial Statements for legal entities in Stores, collaborating with Country Controllers and external auditors to meet local GAAP reporting obligations.
      • Lead the Budgeting and Forecasting of Stores Balance Sheets, providing insightful analysis and commentary for incorporation into the annual Budget and monthly rolling plan submissions.

      Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

      • Qualified accountant with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
      • Prior experience in preparing statutory accounts is preferred.
      • Proficiency in German or Polish languages is advantageous.
      • Demonstrated ability to uphold the integrity of the general ledger through meticulous closing routines.
      • Exceptional analytical skills to identify, comprehend, and communicate budget and re-forecast variances.
      • Proven capability to assess processes critically and implement recommended improvements.
      • Adaptability and a proactive mindset to exceed defined role expectations.
      • Familiarity with Oracle Financial system is desirable.
