Job Description
- Req#: 801564
- Lead development of IEG studies (e.g., concept, protocol, analysis plan, report) in line with applicable systems and processes (SOPs), with support from other IEG and cross-functional colleagues
- Collaborate with other IEG and cross-functional colleagues on the study team, including Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Epidemiology, HEOR/Market Access, Statistics, Data Science and Analytics
- Develop requests for proposal to contact and select external vendors and research partners (where appropriate) as well as collaborate with IEG functions on contacting and working with external collaborators
- Manage study/project timelines and budget, with the IEG Operations group
- Publish and communicate study/project results in collaboration with Medical Affairs Publications Strategy Teams
- Develop and apply innovative research designs as well as analytical methods leveraging internal or external data sources
- Build up digital health use cases based on observational research activities, data science projects and IEG strategic plans
- Act as a senior leader (m/f/d), representing the group of IEG Research Leads across Bayer and be a guide (m/f/d), mentor (m/f/d) and sounding board within the IEG Data Science, Research and Analytics group
- University degree (PhD preferred) in natural science including life sciences, an analytical health care field such as epidemiology, statistics, public health, health economics or comparable
- Long-term working experience in applying observational research and data mining methods to real world data sources (e.g., non-interventional studies, electronic medical records, administrative healthcare claims, disease registries, national surveys) as well as in comparative effectiveness research methods within a Global Pharma organization in cross-functional teams and in contact with internal and external stakeholders
- Advanced experience in observational research, public health, health analytics, epidemiology
- Expertise in applications of RWD for clinical trial design optimization as well as experience with regulatory strategy incorporating RWD/RWE; experience with RWD/RWE-enabled approaches for clinical trial acceleration is desirable
- Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
- Being open-minded and challenging the status quo
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Senior Integrated Evidence Generation (IEG) Researcher (m/f/d)
The Integrated Evidence Generation (IEG) Senior Researcher (m/f/d) is responsible for the strategic planning, design, and execution of studies to answer key business needs, as part of a cross-functional team, and to drive the application and uptake of innovative methods and appropriate data sources. The incumbent (m/f/d) will ensure delivery of high-quality research either utilizing internal RWD sources or through partnerships with external organizations, as well as timely communication and dissemination of results.
