Job Description

- develop and maintain proactive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders (partners, clients), anticipating the needs of clients and risks to their business objectives
- develop engagement objectives, scopes and audit programs (based on an understanding of business conditions and a sound preliminary risk and control assessment) that are in line with direction provided by Audit management
- apply a variety of audit practices to obtain sufficient and appropriate audit evidence to support observations, and use strong judgment and business knowledge to identify causes and formulate recommendations to improve risk-management, control and governance processes
- use data analytics and /or visualization techniques to present the results of statistical analyses where feasible
- plan and prepare audit communications with input from senior colleagues, including briefing decks and/or dahsboards (where appropriate), audit reports and recommendations to strengthen internal controls as well as deliver audit results to various audiences
- proactively monitor and acquire knowledge of external trends as well as accounting and audit practices, communicating how they affect the Bank and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of audit products and services
- An internal auditing designation (CIA) or another recognized professional designation in accounting (e.g., CPA, CMA, CGA) risk management (CRM), project management (PMP), human resources (CHRP), information technology (CISA, CGEIT) or security (CISSP), would be considered an asset
- understanding of all the Bank’s functions, its governance and administrative framework, as well as its risk-management and control practices
- experience in:
- using computer-assisted audit techniques, data analytics, data visualisation (e.g Power BI, IDEA)
- auditing clients using complex enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems like SAP
- Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.
- Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
- Security level required: Be eligible to obtain Secret

- Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $83,500 to $98,235 (job grade 16)
- Depending on performance, you may be eligible for performance pay. The first tier of performance pay is for successfully meeting expectation, at 5 to 7% of your base salary. The Bank offers performance pay for those who exceed expectations (10% of your base salary).. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.

What you need to succeed
You have experience in internal control and risk analyses, including identifying control objectives and corresponding control procedures that reduce the likelihood and consequences of risk to strategic and operational objectives. You have good knowledge of auditing practices and standards, control frameworks, internal control practices for financial reporting or operational processes, including computer application controls. You have experience leading audits, including the planning, conducting and reporting phase. You have knowledge of management practices pertaining to corporate governance and risk management.You are driven to achieve results and ensure timely delivery of high-quality projects and services. You demonstrate excellence and critical thinking, and you look for ways to improve and increase efficiency. You have in depth analytical skills, being able to conceptualization and solve problems as they arise. You have good project management and relationship management skills. You are comfortable with managing simultaneous deliverables and working on multiple audits concurrently.
