Focus on enhancement of analytical modeling capabilities (Credit, Risk Appetite, Limits, etc)
Support and enhance existing Investment Risk activities such as portfolio surveillance and reporting
Provide support and analytics to broader Enterprise Risk management function
Curious and self-starting.
Technically proficient with background in credit risk as well as the ability to communicate and present advanced analytical information to various audiences.
Technical skills include the ability to build (or learn how to) tools for data management, analytics and modelling, and front-end reporting.
Working knowledge of multiple asset classes and the primary risk drivers. Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders is key.
5-10 years of experience – Insurance, Risk, Investment experience a plus
Knowledge or experience with Database Management Tools (Access, SQL, etc)
Credit Modelling experience (Python, Excel/VBA, or other)
Multi-Asset class knowledge base (Public & Private Bonds, Commercial Real Estate, Securitized Products)
Great communication skills with ability to partner with relevant business units and “Can Do” attitude
Proficient in PowerPoint

As a member of Guardian’s Investment Risk department within the Enterprise Risk Management function, the candidate will provide second line of defense oversight of Guardian’s General Account and its various subsidiaries. The individual will focus on portfolio credit risk modelling capabilities but will have broader responsibilities including portfolio oversight, surveillance, reporting, and ad hoc projects related to the Financial Risk profile of the company. This will be a highly visible role with heavy interaction with the Investment Teams and other functions across the Enterprise.

As our Senior Lead, Credit Risk, you will report to our Head of Investment Risk, who reports to our Chief Risk Officer.
Location
Hybrid role – Guardian office- Hudson Yards, NYC – 2 days in office, 3 days WFH
Salary Range
$143,150.00 - $235,175.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
