      About this opportunity

Want to be a part of building our future? Within the Chief Security Office, our role is to protect the Group and our customers from security threats, and to enable the Group’s businesses to make change to their services safely and quickly.

We're looking for a skilled person to shape the next evolution of our offensive security testing capability. We want to complement our expertise in planned security tests where we simulate skilled adversaries (“red team tests”) with dynamic, continuous test capabilities, such as vulnerability hunting and attack surface management.

We're changing our ways of working to adapt to changing customer needs, changing technology and changing business threats and opportunities. This role will give you the opportunity to lead a team of highly skilled people through expansion of security testing services, and to make a difference to an evolving business as part of a senior security leadership team.

You'll lead skilled security testers to reshape the roadmap of an established “red team” service of planned, intelligence-led security tests which simulate a skilled adversary.

You'll build new adversary simulation testing services and expand the team to respond dynamically to security threats and events. We're thinking of services such as continuous testing, vulnerability hunting and attack service management.

You'll be integral to the evolution of broader security services for the Group. Your work will support the continual development of our security defence capabilities (“blue team”) and cyber resilience. You’ll inform the alignment of all security vulnerability services to cyber threat and make practical recommendations to senior leadership about improvement of underlying IT tools, configuration and practices.

      • Passion for understanding and mitigating the latest cyber-attack techniques.

      • Experience of working in cyber security or security testing with a good understanding of the processes, practices and system support tools used in a large IT environment.

      • Good knowledge of networking fundamentals (all OSI layers) and security technologies (e.g. firewalls, IDS/IPS, Web Proxies, etc.)

      • Experience leading, engaging and developing technical teams.

      • Experience making technical information meaningful to business decision makers and of making business goals meaningful to technical colleagues.

And any experience of these would be really useful

      • A testing/cyber-security related qualification such as CEH, OSCP, CISM, CISSP, SANS, CHECK, CREST, CCSAS or similar.

      • Experience of a regulated environment, particularly financial services.
