      • A fantastic permanent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Librarian Collection Advisory Services in the Library and Learning Services Unit at Auckland Libraries.
      • Based at Central City Library with regular travel to the Book Hotel facility in Albany and other library sites.
      • Full-time, 40 hour position, Monday to Friday with some flexibility around work hours.

      He angitūtanga: The opportunity

      We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team as Senior Librarian Collection Advisory Services. You will be part of a dedicated team providing collections expertise to our network of community libraries as well as supporting the collection work of our Research centres and managing our back catalogue collections. This includes training and guidance for staff to successfully use collection management tools and processes to ensure our collections are attractive and appealing for all communities of Tāmaki Makaurau.

      You will also make a valuable contribution to the ongoing management of IMMS, the establishment and daily running of our Book Hotel facility, and contribute to other key projects as required.

      You bring with you a sound understanding of collection management and are excited by the opportunities that technology provides. A can-do attitude, enthusiasm, energy, problem-solving skills, flexibility and vision are key attributes as each day can be different and we are often juggling a variety of tasks and projects. You enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment and are generous with your knowledge and keen to learn from others. Thoughtful communication, active listening skills and the ability to coach and develop others are traits you display and value.

      LIANZA registration is required for this role.

      A drivers’ licence is preferred and you’ll feel confident travelling around Auckland to work onsite at our libraries as well as regularly travel to the Book Hotel facility in Albany.
