      Job Summary

      Job Description

      As a Senior Developer, you will be working in a development and support capacity on our core mainframe cards and transactions system.

      The core application is a large, sophisticated mainframe-based system which connects RBC clients to their banking products and services. This 24/7 application supports critical delivery channels such as Online Banking, POS, ATM and others

      What you will do

      • Design, develop, test, deploy, support and evolve software to deliver banking services.

      • Lead conversion, attestation and audit initiatives

      • Manage individual priorities, deadlines and deliverables.

      • Assess and analyze business and technical requirements in order to provide estimates and establish plans and timelines

      • Create, update and contribute to critical documentation relevant to the projects

      • Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members and various IT partners

      • Available for after-hours production support when needed (rare)

      What you need to succeed

      • Completion of a post-secondary education

      • Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal)

      • Strong background in software development especially mainframe

      • Expertise in COBOL, JCL, IMS, DB2, MQSeries, Endevor, Zeke, Github, File Manager for z/OS

      Nice-to-have

      • Understanding/usage of z/OS Connect, IMS Connect, IDz

      • Experience with CI/CD mainframe pipeline

      • Familiarity with Java Cloud development

      • Debit and Credit Card production and transaction processing
