As a Senior Manager in Global Media Relations, you'll be at the forefront of managing our reputation in the media, building relationships with key contacts, and supporting the delivery of therapy area media engagement.       Accountabilities:

      In this role, you'll be responsible for contributing to and implementing media relations strategies that support AstraZeneca’s objectives and mission. You'll build relationships with key lay, business and trade media contacts around the world to help secure positive coverage for the company. You'll manage communications programs, including press releases, media kits, and other materials. You'll also support in preparation of interviews and press conferences. Monitoring and analysing media coverage of the company to identify trends and potential issues will be a key part of your role. You'll work with markets and other GCA departments, such as internal communications, policy, governmental affairs, and social media, to ensure that messaging is consistent across all channels. Lastly, you'll respond to incoming media requests in alignment with GMR directors.

      Essential Skills/Experience:

      • Bachelor’s degree

      • 3+ years of hands-on experience in managing proactive/reactive media relations programs involving complex regulatory and scientific topics

      • Experience with pharma trade and consumer media relations

      • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

      Desirable Skills/Experience:

      • Global experience

      • Knowledge of pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry

      • Public relations background, or journalism experience
