      Your Role: The Senior Manager, Insurance Product Property Development will lead of team of product managers supporting development, deployment and ongoing management of new personal lines property products, including homeowners, condo, renters, etc. The team will have specific responsibility for, but not limited to, countrywide product design in partnership with Actuarial, developing robust business requirements in partnership with IT, and successful deployment to each market supporting profitable growth. Key areas of interaction will include Actuarial & Data Science, Product Delivery, State Product Management, Finance, Legal,

      Marketing, Service, Claims, and Risk Management.

      Your work:

      Leadership

      · Lead team to drive the product strategy and product implementation.

      · Develop goals and objectives and establish a timetable for deliverables.

      · Hire, empower and mentor product managers. Handle human resources (HR), budget and administrative issues and duties.

      · Lead within a highly dynamic, matrixed, cross-functional environment.

      Product Development and Management

      · Manage overall product portfolio and product life cycles for a division or business unit.

      · Provide thought leadership to product development efforts with high value or high potential products.

      · Develop methodology and initiates changes to policies and guidelines which affect work, schedules, and budgets.

      · Manage all related policies and procedures.

      · Review competitive environment and understands market dynamics for multiple products, states, and or markets.

      · Lead sophisticated or strategic product development or improvement activities and champions our countrywide product vision.

      · Develop new products based on knowledge of products, consumers and competition.

      · Lead division or enterprise-wide projects.

      · Partner closely with Actuarial, State Management, Marketing, Operations and Legal to research and develop product improvements.

      Profit/Loss and Underwriting

      · Be a resource and expert on the Auto line of business - from contract language to underwriting rules and everything in between - and the tools/techniques of Product Management.

      · Shape and drive our Auto underwriting strategy and execute on related initiatives.

      · Monitor product performance (e.g., mix of business and financials), helps develop/improve reporting, identifies key issues or emerging trends, and develops solutions.

      · Establish and assure adherence to budgets.

      · Establish operational objectives for the most complex, highest value, high growth and/or high potential value products.

      Strategic Innovation and Growth

      · Provide strategic organizational direction and develops long-range plans that impact a major area of the organization/company.

      · Provide consulting and recommendations to senior management for future products.

      · Interact directly with Executive Leadership within the company.

      · Lead cross-functional stakeholders and support teams towards business objectives.

      · Develop acquisition and retention strategies to achieve business objectives.

      · Develop and maintains external relationships with vendors and strategic partners to further innovation and expense management.

      Market Execution

      · Partner closely with IT to bring new products and product improvements to life, working in an agile environment.

      · Develop modify and implement policies and procedures.

      · Develop methodologies and initiates changes to policies and guidelines which affect work, schedules, and budgets.

      · Establish operational objectives, work plans.

      · Research and proposes pricing structure and changes.

      · Develop and manage controls to ensure operational processes are working as expected, and holds responsible stakeholders accountable.

      Required Experience, Education and Skills

      · Bachelor's degree in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

      · 8+ years of increasingly responsible product management experience

      · 3-5 years experience leading a personal lines property product management team with demonstrated success in delivering new products and features from concept to launch

      · Ability to define product strategy, product positioning, prioritize and articulate the rationale behind your decisions.

      · Extensive knowledge of product and project management, product profitability, underwriting, and strategic planning

      · Enjoys working across strategic and tactical levels of a project

      · Excellent leadership skills

      · Excellent strategic, organizational and problem-solving skills

      · Proficiency in product analysis, principles and methods.

      · Excellent business and technical writing skills (e.g., proposals, PowerPoint presentation, business requirements, Microsoft project, Suite Microsoft Office)

      · Extensive experience working with IT/technology teams to bring new products and/or product improvements to life

      · Excellent project management techniques and processes; highly skilled negotiator

      · Excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion skills with internal and external partners and stakeholders

      · Excellent understanding business systems and processes and how they link together

      · Outstanding financial analysis and reporting skills

      What would make us excited about you?

      · 5+ years of property product leadership, including by-peril rating, with demonstrated success in delivering new products and features from concept to launch

      · Master of Business Administration (MBA)

      · Experience with catastrophe risks management

      · Fulfills business needs, which may include investing extra time, helping other teams, etc

      The national average salary range for this position is $160,000 - $177,000 . However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $144,000-$213,000 . This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 20% of eligible pay.
