      SUMMARY:

      We are seeking a strategic and data-driven Personalization Manager to lead the development and execution of personalized customer experiences across digital channels. This role will be responsible for leveraging customer data, behavioral insights, and machine learning models to deliver relevant content, product recommendations, and messaging that drive engagement, conversion, and loyalty. This role will report into merchandising and a liaison for merchants to other functional areas of the business.

      KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

      • Understand the landscape of overall personalization offers both internally and externally. Review external capabilities along with a deep understanding of customer behavior. Both capability and customer behavior to be reviewed across retail and consumer shopping channels.
      • Analyze customer behavior and segmentation data to identify opportunities for tailored experiences. Manage and refine recommendation engines, dynamic content modules, and targeting rules.
      • Develop a strategy for merchandising to drive key business goals such as UPT growth, trip frequency, dollars per trip etc. using personalization as lever. Strategy must include multiple stage gates of development and complexity of offers over time. Strategy must also demonstrate complexity and variation in consumer engagement based on current and past behaviors. Use A/B testing and multivariate testing to optimize personalized experiences and measure impact.
      • Ability to work cross functionally with other departments is a must to understand technology and workload challenges. Any gaps in technology and business requirements to be accounted for in strategy as a need with timeline to resolution. Functional departments to partner with include operations, marketing, digital, IT, Data etc.
      • Must understand the differences in customer behavior and develop strategies for different merchandising functions such as Fresh Foods, Non-Alc. etc. Must be able to demonstrate and track changes in consumer behavior based on execution of the plan.
      • Deep understanding of analytics and statistical modeling is a must for the role.
      • Able to lead a team of data scientists to help implementation and long-term execution of this plan.

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

      EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree

      YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 8+ years

      YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: 3+ years

      CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: See specific knowledge and skills

      SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

      • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field (master’s preferred).
      • 4+ years of specific experience in digital marketing, product management, or data-driven personalization.
      • Strong understanding of customer segmentation, behavioral analytics, and user journey mapping.
      • Experience with personalization platforms (e.g., Dynamic Yield, Adobe Target, Optimizely, Salesforce Interaction Studio).
      • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Google Analytics, Tableau).
      • Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
