To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a motivated, reliable leader to join our team as a Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance in our Safety Department. The primary responsibility of the position is to implement procedures to evaluate the company’s safety and security posture. The Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance will also provide senior managers with information to assess the effectiveness of their programs, determine areas of susceptibility, and provide recommendations for improvements. The successful candidate will be able to process and analyze data to present reports in a logical manner. This position will report to the Vice President, Safety and Regulatory Compliance.

      Essential Duties:

      • Designated as the Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) Manager and maintain the IEP information in the Safety Policies and Procedures Manual

      • Responsible for the performance, implementation of activities, and processes of the quality assurance program

      • Responsible for the dissemination of relevant quality assurance risks, issues and results to management and non-management operational personnel to ensure organizational awareness

      • Ensure communication and coordination with operational managers in the management of operational risk

      • Responsible for the safety and security of operations with the authority to develop and implement corrective action as necessary to address audit findings in respective areas of operations

      • Designated as the Aircraft Operator Security Coordinator (AOSC) and is responsible for the company’s security program and status

      • Ensure corporate regulatory compliance levels are accurately documented and reported

      • Ensure corporate regulatory compliance corrective actions and due dates are correctly documented and disseminated

      • Report inadequate corrective action/response to the Vice President, Safety and Regulatory Compliance

      • Responsible for the audit/evaluation preparation and coordination of International Air Transport Association (IATA), IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), Department of Defense (DOD) and other outside regulatory agencies

      • Conduct, investigate, and complete company response for security Letters of Investigation (LOI) and coordinate the corrective actions with the affected company department and regulatory agency

      • Initiate amendments to the Safety Audit Program elements to ensure that systems that promote conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Corporate Safety Standards are systematically evaluated

      • Actively supports the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and Security Management System (SeMS) (14CFR §5)

      Job Qualifications and Competencies:

      • Ability to process and analyze data to present reports in a logical manner

      • General knowledge and understanding of SMS and SeMS

      • Have a thorough understanding of SMS and Safety Assurance System (SAS) data collection tools (14 CFR §5)

      • Have a thorough understanding of IATA, IOSA, and IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices (ISARPS)

      • Knowledge of company operations specifications and manuals

      • Possess formal audit/auditor training certification courses, including risk management and root cause training, or have equivalent alternative operational and auditing experience

      • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, OSHA/Environmental Regulations applicable to airline industry

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Hold a FAA Pilot, Mechanic, or Dispatch Certificate; or other similar aviation credentials; or a relevant undergraduate/graduate degree

      • Three (3) years of civilian or military aviation experience in flight, technical operations, maintenance, ramp operations, or a combination of all

      • Previous airline auditing or safety/security investigation experience

      • Academic safety education or training

      • Training in Safety Management System (SMS) (14 CFR Part 5)

      Work Environment:

      • Standard office environment, use of telephones, computers, and other office equipment

      • Some travel may be required

      Physical Requirements:

      • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
