What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead the medical coding process for clinical trial data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Manage the coding of medical terms using standardized dictionaries such as MedDRA and WHO Drug Dictionary
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve coding discrepancies and ensure data quality
- Provide guidance and support to junior coding specialists, ensuring adherence to coding best practices
- Participate in the development and implementation of coding guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in a life science, healthcare, or related field
- Extensive experience in medical coding with in-depth knowledge of coding standards
- Strong understanding of clinical trial processes and regulatory requirements
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills in managing coding teams
- Proficiency in coding software and clinical data management systems (CDMS)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certification in medical coding or clinical data management
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills for accurate interpretation of medical terminology
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
