      Job Description

      Job Title: Lead Metrology Technician

      Location: Lexington, MA

      About the role:

      As the Lead Metrology Technician, you will serve as the metrological technical representative during meetings, fostering collaboration with cross-functional departments. You will report to the Instrumentation & Calibration Manager.

      How you will contribute:

      • Oversee, schedule and perform calibrations IAW SOP’s or manufacturers procedures to maintain scheduled work requirements.

      • Provide mentoring to junior personnel.

      • Write, develop and review Standard Operating Procedures.

      • Review and approve equipment specifications

      • Research and recommend equipment standards required to support metrology functions.

      • Analyze results and may develop specifications on a wide variety of measurement and test equipment and laboratory instrumentation.

      • Analyze calibration results, determine viability of instruments and produce conclusions on viability of instruments to perform specified function.

      • Perform scheduling in conjunction with manufacturing department requirements to minimize impact on production schedules.

      • Work with vendors to verify compliance with quality requirements, and technical competency and internal customers to ensure support is complaint with cGMP/FDA requirements.

      • Perform on-call coverage and maintain flexible schedule to support operations as required.

      What you bring to Takeda:

      • High School diploma or equivalent

      • 10 years of experience in metrology or equivalent experience working with process and maintenance equipment within a cGMP environment is required.

      • ISA Instrumentation Certification is preferred

      • Ability to present metrology data and knowledge of implementation and/or maintaining computerized calibration management systems

      • Can travel to other sites as required

      Important Considerations:

      At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

      • Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.

      • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

      • Work in a cold, wet environment.

      • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.

      • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
