      Job summary

      We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative and dedicated Occupational Therapist with specialist skills, excellent foundational knowledge and experience in the field of paediatrics, to be part of our team.Joining our highly skilled team of OTs and assistants will ensure a range of clinical experiences that will develop the specialist skills you require to progress your OT career. Your caseload will offer opportunities to work with presentations of physical conditions and neurodiversity, providingcomprehensive assessment of functional and motor coordination difficulties and occupational performance interventions. There will also be a broader opportunity to work with children and young people presenting with challenges in their own homes where safety and independence are considered in partnership with our Learning Disabilities service colleagues.As a specialist OT, there will be opportunity to contribute to our evidence-based pathways and access the vast support network of Children's Occupational Therapists across the Lancashire footprint.We are looking for individuals who are keen to invest in their own development and in return we will support you through professional and clinical supervision, shadowing and co-working opportunities, in-service training, professional forums, trust wide AHP research group, and funding opportunities for relevant external training courses.

      Main duties of the job

      This role offers in-house training opportunities to consolidate learning and knowledge whilst being supported to develop and manage an increasing complex caseload independently. You will become a specialist in assessing occupational performance and delivering specialist interventions. You will have a dedicated mentor and access to regular clinical supervision, appraisals, management supervision and professional support. You will also have access to our highly experienced clinicalleads and Trust AHP leads. You will work alongside speech and language therapists and physiotherapists in the team as well as working closely with other colleagues in health, education and social care to provide holistic and child-centred care. The role covers a variety of locations,including clinics, children's own homes, nurseries and schools.

      Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

      The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
