Job summary

You will lead a creative, progressive and dedicated Occupational Therapist team providing mental health services in the vibrant East London borough of Hackney, and also the City. You will also be joining almost 300 Occupational Therapists already working in the East London Foundation Trust!
Due to internal promotion, we have an amazing opportunity for a clinical lead Occupational Therapists working in our mental Health Community Care for Older Adult.
Ideally, we are looking for full time hours, but would consider part time and flexible working.

The ideal candidate will:
Demonstrate the ability to work independently to provide Occupational Therapy input to service users accessing the Older Adults Mental Health Teams, especially where needs are complex and where multiple factors impacts on occupational performance.
Main duties of the job
To undertake specialist Occupational Therapy assessment andintervention for older people with functional or organic mental healthproblems who are living in the community.
To undertake joint assessment and intervention with otherCommunity Mental Health Team members and, where appropriate,professionals from other agencies.
To take responsibility for a defined caseload of clients belonging tothe CMHT, and where appropriate care co-ordinate individuals withOccupational Therapy specific needs. Applying OccupationalTherapy specialist clinical knowledge and skills in both one-to-oneand group interventions with clients with complex needs, to enablethem to live as independently as possible in the community.
To plan and implement appropriate packages of rehabilitativeOccupational Therapy intervention in order to reduce deterioration infunction, or to maintain an effective level of function. To includeassessment of physical occupational functioning needs throughtreatment planning, making use of collaboration agreements toprovide minor adaptive equipment where required.
To ensure that practice is at all times person-centred and takes fullaccount of the service user's psychical, psychological, cultural, socialand religious needs, beliefs and wishes.
To act as a duty manager in the CMHT for Older People Duty system
To act as a Safeguarding Adult Manager in the CMHT for OlderPeople.
