      Role - Senior/Principal Psychologist/ Neuropsychologist - Paediatrics

      Location - The Portland Hospital, London

      Contract Type - Permanent

      Hours - Full time 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, part time considered

      Salary Range- Competitive dependent upon skills and experience.

      Internationally renowned for clinical excellence, The Portland Hospital is the only independent hospital in the UK entirely dedicated to women and children. Our inpatient and outpatient specialties reflect this, providing clinical expertise in Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Women`s Health.Our Paediatric wards hold 56 inpatient beds + 11 day case and are equipped with the latest technology to provide advanced medical and surgical care, including a Paediatric Neurorehabilitation Unit and a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit which reflects the acuity and complex nature of the children who are admitted to our hospital. The Portland Hospital has a large number of international Paediatric patients, often funded by relevant embassies.

      Main duties of the job

      We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Child Psychologist with specialist experience of neuropsychological assessment or a Neuropsychologist to join our multidisciplinary therapy team. You will work with children with a wide range of neurodisabilities. Our current service is within inpatients however you will have the exciting opportunity to set up and be responsible for an outpatient service as part of the role

      The successful candidate must have the knowledge and skills to provide quality care to our patients and their families who require long term parental support through what is often a long journey of treatment. You will work within the therapy team at The Portland Hospital but also have contact with the wider Psychology team across other HCA locations.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Conduct psychological assessments and/or tests for diagnostic purposes.

      • Neuropsychology formulation, assessment and recommendations

      • Develop an individualized treatment plan for each child and their families.

      • Educate family members on what they can do for their child or how to respond to certain behaviours.

      • Psychological consultation to colleagues in the multi-disciplinary team

      • Teaching and training

      • Contribution to service developments

      • Provide complete documentation and records of assessments and treatments according to in-house policies.
