What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage the planning, design, and construction of complex municipal infrastructure projects
- Supervise various engineering technical staff and oversee project teams
- Apply extensive knowledge of engineering principles across multiple engineering fields
- Collaborate with community stakeholders to ensure project alignment with community needs
- Deliver projects under the 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan, focusing on water, wastewater, stormwater, and transportation
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Ten (10) years of experience in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Civil Engineer License (PE) required or Comity to obtain a State of Oregon license within one year of appointment
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the City of Salem's driving standards
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with municipal engineering projects and capital construction management
- Knowledge of quality assurance/quality control processes for engineering projects
- Prior supervisory experience in a civil engineering context
- Experience in public presentation and community outreach
- Familiarity with project management software and tools
