      This is responsible professional public relations and marketing work that involves creating a variety of PR/marketing material and supporting departmental initiatives. This role requires a well-rounded set of public relations and marketing skills including excellent writing skills.

      The Senior Public Relations Specialist collaborates closely with the Marketing Manager and the Senior Manager of Public Relations to execute departmental tasks and campaigns. The role also works in partnership with the Digital Marketing Manager to develop social media strategies, create content, and lead social media initiatives. Additionally, the Senior Public Relations Specialist provides leadership and guidance to the Public Relations Specialist. This position requires strong independent judgment, creativity, and initiative. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Senior Manager of Public Relations and is evaluated through meetings, evaluations, and assessment of campaign outcomes.

      Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Relations, Journalism, English, Communications, or a closely related field, and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in public affairs or public relations, including publications writing.

      Equivalency: An Associate’s degree in one of the related fields listed above, plus five (5) years of relevant experience as described.

      A High School Diploma or GED, plus seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in public affairs, public relations, or related work involving publications writing.

      Bilingual- Spanish/English or Creole/English
