      Job summary

      We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, ambitious and motivated Rotational Senior Radiographer (Band 6) for Core Services Plain X-ray, CT and possible rotation to MRI. This Position will be based at St. Bartholomew's Hospital which is in the heart of the City of London- St. Paul's.

In addition you will have the opportunity to use your initiative and to augment to your skills and experience

      We offer a full range of local and specialist services, which includes centres for the treatment of cancer, heart conditions, fertility problems, endocrinology and sexual health conditions. The hospital includes the site of the new state-of-the-art Barts Heart Centre.

      This is an exciting opportunity to join Europe's largest specialised cardiovascular centre. The appropriate candidate will have good general radiographic experience, be resilient, flexible and able to demonstrate leadership and clinical supervision skills. The post holder will work closely with the Clinical, Radiographic and managerial teams.

      Applicants for all posts above must hold a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or the Diploma of the College of Radiographers and HCPC registration.

      Main duties of the job

      The aim of this role is to provide high quality, effective Imaging services to a wide range of services which are supported by Imaging including General and A&E x-ray, fluoroscopy, theatres and CT. There is also a possibility of rotation to MRI. The post holder will work closely with Radiographers, students and clinical staff of all grades to provide safe, prompt and effective imaging of patients.

      Patients may be unconscious, un-cooperative, incapacitated, incompetent or with physical or mental disabilities. Some may exhibit anti-social or threatening behaviour. It is necessary to provide empathy and emotional support to the bereaved, terminally ill injured and traumatised.

      The service operates 24 hours a day 365 days per year.
