      Reporting to the Senior Engineer Supervisor, the Senior Reliability Specialist, is responsible for establishing, implementing, and managing our asset integrity program, focusing on structural, mechanical, and electrical integrity, and providing leadership in safety, reliability, and maintenance. This role involves extensive collaboration with multi-functional teams to achieve the highest asset integrity standards, best practices, and technologies. A strong background in reliability improvement and asset integrity programs for Industrial assets such as oil and gas and mining would be essential for success in this position.

      Responsibilities:

      • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
      • Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to reliability and maintenance personnel across multiple sites to enhance skills and performance
      • Coordinate working groups across various sites to encourage effective knowledge sharing and learning within the communities of practice for asset integrity and reliability
      • Provide input to annual business plans based on short and long-term asset plans, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and targets for operational performance
      • Collaborate on developing technical scopes and business justifications for sustaining projects to maintain and enhance asset reliability throughout its lifecycle
      • Contribute to developing and implementing a comprehensive asset integrity program, prioritizing mining assets' structural aspects
      • Conduct thorough structural, mechanical, and electrical assessments and evaluations of existing assets to identify vulnerabilities, deterioration, or areas needing maintenance. Employ advanced inspection and assessment techniques to provide accurate and detailed reports
      • Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure that all structural, mechanical, and electrical elements meet industry standards, relevant codes, and best practices
      • Facilitate management of change and risk assessments

      Qualifications:

      • Degree or technical diploma in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering or other related subject areas
      • Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC); Teck will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration
      • Minimum twelve years of Maintenance, Reliability and Asset Integrity Management experience, focusing on structural, mechanical, and electrical aspects, preferably in the mining industry
      • Expert understanding of reliability engineering principles and development of maintenance strategies
      • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing new systems to improve existing technology
      • Understanding of the concepts of asset information register and computerized maintenance management systems, such as MAXIMO
      • Facilitation skills used to gather subject matter expertise and achieve consensus for strategy development and/or scope of work
      • Drivers License required with international travel
      • Proficiency in Spanish is a significant advantage

      Salary Range: $115,000 - $142,000

      The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
