      We seek a highly motivated and technically qualified individual to join our NTIA NOFO 2 SRFA 1 Development Team. The Senior Research Engineer, Embedded Software will participate in software development. This position will work closely with R&D managers and System, Hardware, and Software engineers.

      Job Type: Full Time - Remote

      Job Location: Plano, TX

      Travel: Up to 20% as required

      Reporting to the Senior Manager of Embedded Software, this position is a key contributor to SOLiD's continued growth and success. Duties will include the following:

      Responsibilities
      • Participate in the software development for the O-RU products
      • Develop, test, and integrate real-time embedded software for the ORAN applications.
      • Design and implement C/C++/Python solutions for Linuxbased SoC platforms used in telecom products.
      • Work with C/C++/Python, Assembly, and scripting languages to develop high-reliability software solutions.
      • Design and implement software for communication interfaces within the O-RU
      • Develop software applications to ensure system functionality and add unique features for the product
      • Experience with developing monitoring software systems
      • Utilize software simulation and emulation tools to optimize and ensure system performance.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, system architects, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless product integration.
      • Troubleshoot across software and hardware layers, pivoting quickly into any technical area required to keep projects on track.
      • Contribute to continuous process improvement efforts to enhance software quality and efficiency.
      • Debug and tune SoC drivers using vendorspecific command sets.


      Qualified Candidates Must Possess:
      • Expertise in C/C++/Python, Linux, and Assembly programming for real-time systems.
      • 3GPP and O-RAN conformance testing experience
      • Experience with simulation and modeling tools (MATLAB/Simulink, SCADE).
      • Knowledge of digital design and software simulation.


      Requirements:
      • Bachelor's degree (in EE/CE/CS) with 5+ years of related experience or master's degree (in EE/CE/CS) with 3+ years of experience in telecommunications, or related field
