What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop, build, and test ML models as part of a small R&D team to enhance musical creativity
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and refine project requirements and solutions
- Optimize ML models for performance, accuracy, and cost through continuous iteration
- Stay current with the latest tools and techniques in AI/ML and share insights with team members
- Represent the employer's R&D efforts in the broader research and technical communities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 5+ years of experience in applied research in AI/ML or equivalent academic experience
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
- Strong problem-solving skills and a high degree of agency
- Familiarity with Python, Numpy, Pytorch, Tensorflow, and similar ML frameworks
- Understanding of audio signal processing fundamentals and music theory concepts
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with digital audio workstation software and AI-based music production workflows
- Familiarity with modern ML models and techniques such as transformers and LLMs
- Experience training, evaluating, and fine-tuning open-source models
- Knowledge of experiment tracking frameworks like Neptune or W&B
- Experience deploying models for inference to cloud platforms or desktop/mobile environments
