What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze property risks related to natural catastrophes, including fire, earthquake, and flood
- Manage relationships with clients, carriers, and insurance brokers to advocate for client needs
- Conduct data analysis and prepare summary documents for insurance broker renewals
- Participate in vendor management and coordination of vendor RFPs
- Develop and review maximum foreseeable loss and probable maximum loss estimates for various occupancies
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience and professional designations
- 3 to 10 years of experience with an insurance carrier, vendor, or related property risk engineering
- Proficiency in understanding and applying NFPA and/or FM Global standards
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain property risk management concepts
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time within the U.S.
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with construction, occupancy, protection, and exposure (COPE) data
- Familiarity with natural catastrophe modeling and analysis tools
- Strong problem-solving skills related to fire protection issues
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Experience in evaluating fire protection systems and safety measures
