      Job summary

      Were looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior SACT Nurse to join our specialist oncology team. Youll play a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based chemotherapy nursing care and providing expert clinical leadership across the service.

      As a Senior SACT Nurse, you will manage a caseload of patients, run nurse-led clinics, and support junior staff development. Youll work closely with consultants, pharmacists, and wider MDTs to ensure patients receive safe, compassionate care at every stage of treatment. Your advanced knowledge in SACT delivery, venous access, and emergency response will ensure clinical excellence and continuity.

      Main duties of the job

      As a Senior SACT Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering and coordinating safe, high-quality systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) to patients, while also supporting their holistic care throughout treatment. Youll manage your own caseload and contribute to nurse-led clinics, ensuring personalised care plans are developed and followed.

      You will act as a key point of contact for patients, offering expert advice, clinical assessments, and emotional support. Your role includes advanced practice skills such as venepuncture, cannulation, and central venous access management. You will work closely with consultants, pharmacists, and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure treatment is delivered in line with best practice and clinical guidelines.

      In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will play an active part in mentoring junior staff, contributing to audits, and leading service improvements. The role also involves participation in the 24-hour on-call rota and supporting the development of education and training programmes within the service.
