      AWS Elemental is an Amazon Web Services company that combines deep video expertise with the power and scale of the cloud. We are looking for a Senior Software Development Manager to lead a team of engineers in growing our AWS Elemental MediaLive service.

      In this position, you will direct the work of multiple engineering teams with many talents. Your team members will be embedded media software engineers, distributed systems engineers, and quality engineers. Together, you will focus on delivering new functionality, improving the architecture, and operating the most robust Live cloud transcoding service available. You’ll be challenged and rewarded by shipping software that creates beautiful video streaming experiences.

      Key job responsibilities
      Be the technical product owner of an AWS service, working closely with product managers to define and deliver the roadmap
      Lead your team of engineers as they design, implement, and test new features in our products
      Partner with AWS Elemental field personnel to harden the requirements for feature requests
      Institute and enforce rigorous operational practices to ensure customers can rely on your service for their most valuable content
      Delight customers by actively managing their issues and delivering timely fixes
      Recruit new talent to grow your team and mentor these engineers as they progress in their careers
      Clear roadblocks for your team and empower them to do their best work
      Work with other managers to evolve our processes as necessary
      Learn a tremendous amount about modern media technologies
      Have fun in a challenging but rewarding environment- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
      - 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
      - Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field
      - Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
      - Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications
      - Experience with streaming and broadcast media technologies
