What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Architect, develop, and implement key backend game systems, features, and services
- Design and maintain scalable and secure backend services, including player data persistence and matchmaking
- Collaborate with project engineering teams to produce high-quality, low-latency code
- Perform peer code reviews and uphold a high standard of code excellence
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on new features
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience on cross-functional teams
- Experience with at least one successfully published large-scale multiplayer online game title
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Strong knowledge of server architecture, cloud computing, and microservices
- Proficient experience with Unreal Engine's network/multiplayer features
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Passion for online multiplayer RPGs and experience with online games
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and live game deployment strategies
- Knowledge of anti-cheat solutions and game security best practices
- Understanding of performance analysis and optimizations
- Familiarity with Unreal’s newest replication system, Iris
