What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Design, implement, and maintain the Walrus core, including storage nodes, client software, smart contracts, and toolchains
- Collaborate with research, cryptography, production, and security teams to ensure network security and performance
- Optimize existing systems for scalability, efficiency, and reliability
- Integrate new features and technologies in collaboration with other teams at the employer
- Drive complex projects to successful completion
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 5+ years of experience in systems and/or network programming, ideally in Rust, C, or C++
- Experience in designing and developing distributed systems, consensus protocols, or high-performance systems
- Proficiency in operating and managing production systems with a strong focus on reliability
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Proven ability to manage complex projects effectively
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with Rust programming language
- Previous work on blockchain technology or cryptographic protocols
- Significant contributions to open-source projects
- Research experience (formal or informal) on relevant computer science topics
