What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Iterate on features using Scala and React within an agile development framework
- Build core systems within a microservices architecture
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather feedback and drive improvements
- Execute on significant opportunities to enhance Hopper's position in the travel industry
- Write quality, testable code that performs and scales effectively
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and their performance implications
- Experience working with Scala and/or React and associated libraries
- Prior cloud experience
- Ability to work autonomously and manage ambiguity effectively
- Experience in UX design using tools such as Figma
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior experience in travel or eCommerce industries
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Frontend Engineers
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and iterative development processes
